Gregory M. Culbert, D.C., DABCO
Dr. Culbert graduated from Linfield College in 1986 with a bachelor’s degree in biology. He took one year off between college and chiropractic school and came to Alaska where he got a job on the lift crew at Alyeska ski resort. In the spring of that year, he took a job commercial fishing.

Dr. Culbert started chiropractic school in the fall of 1987, graduating with his doctorate in chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic West in 1991. He worked as an associate doctor both at the Ireland Clinic of Chiropractic and Chugach Chiropractic, each for approximately one year. He opened Northern Chiropractic in 1993 and has been there since.

Dr. Culbert has extensive training in whiplash associated disorders, having completed the Spine Research of San Diego’s Masters Program in 1995, 1996 and most recently in 2010. In 1997, he attained advanced certification in motor vehicle cervical acceleration/deceleration trauma from the Spine Research Institute of San Diego, recertifying most recently in 2009. In both 1999 and 2005, Dr. Culbert participated in CRASH, an automobile crash testing program performed in San Diego in conjunction with Texas A&M University. In 1997, Dr. Culbert enrolled in the diplomate program in chiropractic orthopedics. He finished this in 2000 and successfully passed his board examinations, becoming board certified in chiropractic orthopedics in December of 2000.

Dr. Culbert has been a volunteer in the Eagle River community for many years. He was part of the Eagle River Community Council Board of Directors from 1994 to 2000 and served on the Eagle River Boys and Girls Club Advisory Committee from 1993 to 2000.

In January of 1999, Dr Culbert was appointed to the Chiropractic Peer Review Committee by the Alaska State Board. In February of 2002, Governor Tony Knowles appointed Dr. Culbert to the Alaska State Board of Chiropractic Examiners. Governor Frank Murkowski reappointed him in 2005. In December of 2004, Dr. Culbert was elected president of the Alaska State Board of Chiropractic Examiners. Dr. Culbert was also named 2004 Chiropractor of the Year by the Alaska Chiropractic Society.

Dr. Culbert’s hobbies include snow machining at Nancy Lake, water skiing and perfecting his golf game. Dr. Culbert has been married since 1995 and has two sons, Alexander and Greyson.
